How many therapists do I need?

That depends on how many people you want to receive a session.

If the sessions are 10 minutes, we can work on 6 people in an hour. If the sessions are 15 minutes than we can work on 4 an hour. Plan accordingly with how many participants you have.

How much room do you need?

Because the chairs are relatively light and portable we can fit into relatively small spaces. For example there is enough room for 2-3 therapists in a 10 x 12 room.

Does it hurt?

Massage therapy should NEVER be painful. This is a very common misconception. It is appropriate to use a level of pressure that would fall under the “good hurt” category, but you should never be in real pain when being worked on. To prevent this, we often check in on how you are feeling during a session and welcome feedback if you are tender in certain muscles.

How can it be effective working through the clothes?

Because we are specially trained in seated massage, we use techniques designed to gain maximum efficacy through clothing.

How should I dress?

There is no special dress code for seated massage. We may ask that you remove jackets and bulky sweatshirts, but we can generally work through most typical clothing? If you are wearing a tie, we will ask that you loosen it and unfasten the top button to ensure your comfort.

Will it make me sleepy?

Some people may feel a bit groggy for a minute or two, but then they quickly feel more alert and refreshed. One of the reasons a seated massage session is between 10 to 30 minutes is that a shorter break gives your brain a chance to rest, but it doesn’t make you go in to a relaxed state that is too deep to regain your focus afterwards. One of the benefits of seated massage is that it makes you more alert an focused afterward.

Do you go from desk to desk?

No - We do not do this for many reasons. For one, the benefit will be greatly increased if we can be in a room that is away from the work area (e.g. an empty office, conference room, lobby or break room). The client can relax and be free from interruptions during their massage break. Our time is also better spent being on one place. That way we can spend our time working on you, and not running all over the place - remember, we get paid hourly!
